RJR News / A gritty unbeaten 95 from opener Kraigg Brathwaite has brought the West Indies to within 37 runs of Pakistan at stumps on Monday’s second day of their third and final test in Sharjah.
Resuming on 255-8, Pakistan were dismissed for 281 as Alzarri Joseph picked up the final two wickets of the day to end with figures of 2-57.
Devendra Bishoo was the pick of the Windies bowlers with 4-77 while Shannon Gabriel bagged 3-67. The West Indies then recovered from a shaky reply at 38-3 to close on 244-6 with Roston Chase supporting Brathwaite’s 95 with an even 50 and wicketkeeper Shane Dorwich getting 47.
Brathwaite who was making his 12 th test half century, faced 206 balls while sharing two solid partnerships. He posted 83 with Chase for the fifth wicket and also 83 with Dowrich for the sixth.
Captain Jason Holder was with Brathwaite at stumps on 6. The West Indies trail 2-0 in the three match series.
