Trinidad Express / Thanks to the woefully dysfunctional and deficient justice system, a devastatingly tragic event has now morphed into an interminable tragedy for two kidnap survivors and their family. Janelle and Felicia Gonzales thought their nightmare had ended when police rescued them deep inside the Brasso Seco forest in November 2014. Far from it. First, they learned that their mother, Irma Rampersad, and Janelle’s 14 month-old daughter, Shania Amoroso, had been murdered. Then, with the manhunt and subsequent arrest of Azmon Alexander and a 17-year-old, they were hustled into protective custody. After that, their world went into limbo.
