Trinidad Express / Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley yesterday made the surprising announcement that as head of the National Security Council, he had no knowledge of who will be the acting Commissioner of Police come tomorrow. This as he expressed his deep concern with the country’s crime problem and signalled his intention to take a more active role in tackling crime. He was speaking at the People’s National Movement’s (PNM) 46th annual convention, at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain. The Prime Minister referred to a “dysfunctionality” in the system, implying that it appeared to include the Police Service Commission as well as the Police Service itself.
