Some workers at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in St Andrew remain off the job for a second day following Wednesday’s incident in which a female employee was attacked and seriously injured. Howard Litchmore, Negotiating Officer for the Union of Technical, Administrative and Supervisory Personnel, said the hospital continues to accept only emergency cases. Mr. Litchmore said the health record workers are still not satisfied with how the incident has been handled, hence the decision to protest for a second day. He said there will be a meeting on Friday to discuss the matter. Warned for prosecution RJR News understands that the man who attacked the hospital employee has been warned for prosecution by the police. The man, who is the parent of a patient, reportedly became upset over the long waiting hours and shattered a pane of glass, causing a hospital clerk to sustained an injury to one of her eyes. She had to undergo emergency surgery to remove the splinters. According to Mr. Litchmore, the employee is still in hospital under observation.
