RJR News / Jamaica’s female volleyballers are through to the final of the Cazova Caribbean Women’s Championship after defeating Guadeloupe in straight sets in their semi-final at the National Indoor Sports Centre on Sunday evening.
The girls produced one of their best performances of the tournament so far to come away 25-18, 25-12, 25-19 winners. They will meet reigning champions Trinidad and Tobago in Monday night’s final. Trinidad and Tobago had to work for a 3-1 victory over Suriname. Having lost the opening set 21-25, Trinidad and Tobago bounced back to take the next three 25-17, 25-16, 25-14. Monday night’s championship match is set to start at 8 o’clock.
By reaching the final, both Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago have qualified for the NORSECA round of World Championship qualifiers.
