Trinidad Express / Caroni Central MP Dr Bhoe Tewarie yesterday advised his parliamentary colleague, National Security Minister Edmund Dillon, that the Government should work first on bringing down the murder and crime rates before declaring war on crime. Finance Minister Colm Imbert on Budget Day announced that Government was launching the National Crime Prevention Programme (NCPP) in the war against crime. Imbert said the programme will constitute a holistic approach to crime-fighting, including crime prevention through community empowerment.
