Jamaica Gleaner / The family of Brian George has established a scholarship in honour of the former business leader, a press statement revealed yesterday.

“George was an exemplary business executive throughout his career, having held top positions in organisations such as IBM, Carib Brewery, G-Tech (now IGT), and Supreme Ventures Ltd. Brian George represents a significant role model for current and future businessmen and businesswomen,” widow Keneea Linton-George said in the release.

The Brian R. A. George Scholarship will commence in fall 2018 and will offer renewable three-year scholarships to students who have been accepted to a local university in the field of mathematics, physics or business. Eligible candidates must demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, leadership qualities, and a commitment to community service.

“Brian George held a degree in physics and economics from Tulane University and was passionate about developing youth in sports, science and leadership. The Brian George Scholarship will continue his commitment to making a difference in the lives of promising young leaders,” the statement read.

George died on October 23 last year at the age of 59, leaving behind widow Keneea and two sons.
