Trinidad Express / WHILE many were following the Budget presentation on Monday, two neighbours in Barrackpore were involved in a heated argument which led to one shooting the other.
Seepersad Ramsaran, 59, is warded at hospital with a laceration to his liver.
The suspect, a 26 year old farmer, was arrested by police and an air rifle allegedly seized from his home.
A police report said that at around 3 p.m. Ramsaran, of Rochard Road, had an argument with a neighbour.
The quarrel escalated and the neighbour allegedly grabbed his pellet gun and fired at Ramsaran.
He was struck several times in the back, police said.
He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he is warded in the High Dependency Unit.
A report was made to the Barrackpore CID and PCs Ali and Tambie arrested the suspect.
Police said he was expected to be charged with either wounding with intent or attempted murder.
