Trinidad Express / PRIME Minister Dr Keith Rowley’s departure today for the IV Caricom-Mexico Summit in Belize, where disaster prevention and management is high on the agenda, was yesterday met with disbelief by many citizens on social media as parts of Trinidad remain under water.

Rowley was also chastised via a statement by Princes Town MP Barry Padarath, who said the “hotfoot” prime minister should understand that charity begins at home.

Hundreds of citizens have been displaced and their worldly belongings ruined by heavy flooding since last Wednesday in areas including Caparo, Moruga, Barrackpore, Mayaro and Sangre Grande.
