Jamaica Gleaner / National Security Minister Robert Montague says there are between seven and eight million rounds of ammunition in Jamaica for which the ministry is unable to give an account.

Montague says the ministry arrived at the figure by calculating the difference between the number of rounds of ammunition that can be in the legal possession of firearm holders and the number of ammunition imported into the country.

Speaking at a press conference this morning, he said there is a serious concern about access to ammunition and leakage to unauthorised persons.
