Jamaica Gleaner / Three men were taken into custody by the Portland Proactive Investigations Unit for breaches of the Firearm Act along the Hope Bay main road in Portland.

Their identities are been withheld pending further investigations.

The police say about 4 p.m. yesterday a team was carrying out a Vehicular Check Point along the road when a Toyota Corolla motor car was signalled to stop.

The police say the vehicle along with the occupants was searched.

They say they recovered a black Haskell .45 pistol with a magazine containing ten .45 rounds of ammunition, which were seized along with the motor vehicle.

All three occupants were taken into custody in relation to the seizure.
