Trinidad Express / Donald Trump is no stranger to controversy and regularly evokes arguments over his tweets. Most often it is the belligerence and controversial nature of Trump’s words that give rise to fierce arguments rather than his choice of words in terms of grammar or syntax. However his use of the abbreviation “mike” in reference to Jemele Hill, co-host of ESPN’s SportsCenter, caused quite a linguistic stir, if not exactly a controversy, on the internet.
