Trinidad Express / A Penal woman was last night interviewed by police in connection with the deaths of Khemraj Roopnarine and Patricia Harripersad.

The 44-year-old woman owns the white Nissan Tiida car which ploughed into the couple and they walked home on Sunday night.

But it is uncertain whether she was driving the car.

The woman told investigators that her boyfriend borrowed the car on Sunday. He returned it that night and left.

The damaged vehicle was seized by police.

The man, police said, is expected to be taken into custody later today.

The couple who lived along the Penal Rock Road were returning home when the incident happened at around 10p.m.

Their sons, ages nine and five, were walking ahead of them.

Relatives said the family was two houses away from their home when the accident happened.

The boys ran to an uncle’s house screaming for help.

But by the time paramedics arrived the couple had died.
