Trinidad Express / Guardian Group presented 100 per cent of SHINE 5K and 10K Charity Walk and Run race proceeds totaling $369,000 to twenty-five (25) charities on Friday at Guardian Group’s Head Office, in Westmoorings.
Guardian Group’s SHINE (Securing Hope for those in Need) was the 5k and 10K Charity Walk and Run held on November 25 at the Nelson Mandela Park, St. Clair.
The charity event is Guardian Group’s flagship charity fund raiser in Trinidad and Tobago and attracted approximately 4,600 runners and walkers.
This event sought to engage both the serious athletes and leisure walkers/runners with an objective of making a meaningful contribution to children’s charities. The event also raised public awareness of health and wellness which is central to Guardian Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
Corporate partners, One Caribbean Media (OCM), C&W Business and SM Jaleel Ltd. joined the cause along with several corporate entities, NGOs, CBOs, clubs and the public to raise funds for several children’s charities. Given the overwhelming support, twenty-five (25) charities will benefit from 100% of race proceeds totaling $369, 000.00.
The money received by these charities will make a significant difference in the lives of hundreds of children. Shine 2018 will take place on Saturday 24th November.
