RJR News / The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Assocaition (JAAA) on Tuesday confirmed with RJR Sports that “no sanction” will be levied on the two female members of Jamaica’s mile relay team, who were said to have been involved in a verbal altercation by Technical Leader Donald Quarrie, at this summer’s IAAF World Championships in London. President of the JAAA, Dr Warren Blake said the decision not to impose any sanction on Shericka Jackson and Stephenie-Ann McPherson, comes after all the respective reports were assessed by the exectutive recently.
“The report showed that the reported fight was not really a fight but it was more of a heated verbal exchange than any fists being thrown and the report didn’t point to the need for any further action,” said Dr Blake.
In the meantime, Dr Blake says a decision on what criteria will be used to select the nation’s teams to the World Indoor Championship in Birmingham, England set for March 1-4 and the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia in April, is still being finalised.
The JAAA boss said once the draft selection criteria is posted on the selection committee’s intra-net this week, they will collate the comments and post a final draft on the JAAA’s website by the end of the week.
