RJR News / The Reggae Boyz have remained stable in the latest edition of the FIFA rankings as they stay at 54th in the world. Among CONCACAF nations, Jamaica are 4th in the region as Mexico still lead the way as they are ranked 16th. Despite failing to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the United States are second in CONCACAF at number 24 and Costa Rica are third at 26th in the world. Jamaica is the highest ranked Caribbean nation with Haiti number two in the CFU and Curacao third. Ranked at 54th in the world also means the country remains just outside the top 50 ranking required for most of the country’s footballers to be eligible to play in England’s top tier leagues. Meanwhile, there were no changes in the top ten as Germany remains the highest ranked team in the world heading into 2018. The current World Cup champions are followed by Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, France and Chile.
