As Christmas approaches and in the midst of my personal preparations and excitement, I remember Shannon Banfield who was murdered one year ago this coming week. I just mentioned her name to my colleague, Sateesh Maharaj, last week and immediately he recalled his experience walking into the store where she was killed and being hit by a scent he thought was dead rats, only to hear the next day they had found Banfield’s body.
