Trinidad Express / Vendors in San Fernando will have approval to ply their trade on the streets during the month of December with the establishing of a temporary pedestrian mall on High Street.

Speaking at Wednesday’s statutory meeting of the San Fernando City Corporation, Mayor Junia Regrello said the pedestrian mall will be erected on High Street, between Penitence and Short streets.

“We met with the vendors and were able to work out an agreement where they will use the drainage area at the edge of the street for four days a week. This would ensure they do not block businesses or occupy the pavement,” said the mayor.
