Trinidad Express / Youthful kaisonian Helon Francis has been getting rave reviews with his 2018 selection “Change”. Last week Saturday, Francis, 24, passed the “acid test” at Skinner Park, San Fernando, securing a place in the finals of the National Calypso Monarch competition at tonight’s Dimanche Gras Show at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain. He is among a cast of 15 calypsonians hoping to dethrone reigning calypso monarch Chalkdust (Dr Hollis Liverpool). Francis wrote “Change” and co-arranged the song with Roger Israel. Francis is not a complete stranger to the “Big Yard”. In 2016 he placed second to Devon Seale singing “Paradise” and “Real Bandits”.
