Jamaica Observer / This Easter in Negril will be a journey down memory lane as the staging of one of western Jamaica’s favorite retro party, Different Strokes, coincides with the Easter holidays. Easter Saturday, March 31, Cayenne Beach, Negril will see patrons dancing the night away to their favourite old- school songs played by the best retro DJs.
Different Strokes Retro Party, the brainchild of veteran party promoter Sean Greenfield, is in its ninth year and has grown significantly with each staging.
Asked what’s the secret, Greenfield simply responds, “sticking to the theme and listening to the patrons, delivering and exceeding expectations each time”.
This year’s staging is dubbed ‘Back to basics’ and patrons will be taken on a musical journey back in time by veteran DJs Mixx Master Marvin from Kool FM, Collin Hines from FAME FM, and Smoke Infinity from Negril.
According to the promoters, Different Strokes Retro Party is a staple on the entertainment scene, with patrons coming from overseas as well as islandwide, which helps in the overall mission of Seashli Entertainment to showcase the best that Negril has to offer.
“We want patrons to come book their rooms, enjoy a night of fantastic entertainment, then wake up to breakfast on the beach. Negril is the ultimate vacation spot and quality events are an integral part of the overall experience. It’s more than a venue, it’s a destination,” said Greenfield
