RJR News / The Ministry of Finance met with the Police Federation on Monday morning. The Federation served an ultimatum on the Ministry last week regarding retroactive payments to be made at the end of the month. It has also rejected the 16 per cent wage offer over four years. Addressing the Area Three Council meeting Manchester on Sunday, Rudyard Spencer, State Minister in the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service, reiterated that the Government cannot improve the offer. “What is on the table is what is on the table. We don’t have anything more to give, and so ladies and gentlemen, I am of the view that the police will also recommend to their membership what we are proposing (Monday) morning,” he said, noting that negotiations have been “very cordial” and “very friendly”.
