Trinidad Express / “I am alive and intend to be so until I die.”These were the words yesterday of former prime minister, Basdeo Panday, who took to social media to rubbish a rumour that he had, in fact, passed away. Also addressing talk of her father’s death was attorney Mickela Panday, who wrote on Facebook:
“There is a cruel and vicious rumour being spread that our Dad has passed away. Whilst we have become accustomed to fake news this is a new low. Please be assured that he is alive and kicking!” Panday, 88, is still a frequent figure on the social scene and was most recently spotted at last month’s swearing in of President Paula-Mae Weekes.
