Trinidad Express / The telephone call last Wednesday caught me as I was making probably my 100th attempt at re-ordering the volumes of files, clippings, books, etc in my library. Definitely, it was not the best time to be disturbed, but there was Clyde, a friend of some 40 years, at the other end.

Despite his ailments, Clyde maintained the smooth delivery and clipped graciousness that he has mastered over the years. First, he complimented me on my last column, which he found balanced, particularly the aspect dealing with former minister Darryl Smith; then he moved on to the Tobago ferry fiasco.
