Another U-16 crown for Leslie*

Trinidad Express / ALIJAH LESLIE captured his second straight title in a higher age-group and Nabeel Mohammed bounced back on the final day of the Sagicor Junior Tennis Tournament yesterday at Trinidad Country Club, Maraval. On another day severely affected by rain, Leslie edged Andre Crawford 6-2, 2-6, 10/7 in the under-16 final. The national under-14 champion had also captured this title in the recent Lease Operators Limited Junior Tournament, after being upset in his age-group final by Kyle Kerry, who completed the double in the category on Thursday. After being stunned in straight sets by Samuel West in his first match on Monday, title favourite Mohammed has bounced back in the under-21 straight round-robin event and he whipped Aidan Carter 6-4, 6-2 yesterday. The national age-group champ, who is the only male player to ever be crowned national under-18 champ three straight times, was expected to beat Keshan Moonasar after press time last night and lift the trophy.
