‘Bazodee’ triumphs at film festival*

Trinidad Express / Coming off successful sold out double screenings at the 19th London/Asian Film Festival locally produced movie, Bazodee starring Machel Montano, Kabir Bedi, Natalie Perera, Valmike Rampersad and featuring a host of local actors and technical crew, picked up two major awards at the festival. The movie was screened at the birthplace of British Cinema, the Regent Street Cinema in London on March 19 and proved such a success that people are asking whether there will be anymore screenings available. The closing ceremony and gala awards were held at the very prestigious British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). The first award won by Bazodee was the Audience Choice Award, presented to the movie that gathers the most support by an audience. Bazodee had two sold-out screenings at the festival. The second award picked up by the movie was the Best Music Award, which shows that Trinbago’s music is moving further afield beyond the boundaries of the region and continues to not only unify peoples, but also express the love of Trinbagonians through our music.
