Cuban musical treat awaits jazz fans *

Trinidad Express /

Cuban musician William Roblejo says he is looking forward to his second appearance at the annual Jazz Artistes on The Greens event tomorrow and will also participate in the informative workshop scheduled to be hosted at the University of Trinidad and Tobago this Friday morning in advance of the grand concert.

“This is our second appearance at JAOTG,” he said, “so you can expect selections from my recently released debut album, Dreaming. The last time I found the audience to be very appreciative and supportive, which always inspires me to create more and now we have more to share with the people of Trinidad…”

Roblejo and his engaging trio of musicians from Cuba will join Victor Provost from the US Virgin Islands, James Jessey Joseph from Haiti and our very own Trinbagonian sensations, Vaugnette Bigford and Elan Parle, at the 15th annual edition of Jazz Artists on the Greens (JAOTG) tomorrow night at “The Greens” on Farm Road, St Joseph.

Violinist William Roblejo is a musician who graduated from the Higher Institute of Art and burst onto the Cuban music scene in a major way over the last ten years.

After completing his studies at the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory in Havana, he created his own musical group and began participating in the last jazz festivals held in the Cuban capital.
