Driver, fixing car, hit by truck*

Trinidad Express / A MAN who was trying to fix his vehicle, which stalled on the highway just before dawn yesterday, died after being hit by a truck. The victim, Trevor Ross, of ­Powder Magazine, Cocorite, was dragged 20 ­metres following the ­accident, according to ­police reports. The incident was said to have occurred around 5.10 a.m. yesterday along the Churchill-Rooselvelt Highway, Bamboo. A report said Ross was driving a Datsun 280C, when it stalled along the east-bound lane, in the vicinity of the south overpass. Police said as Ross was outside his car, tending to the vehicle, he was struck by a truck. The driver of the truck did stop and render assistance, but unfortunately Ross succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
