Fixed! Taxi, bus operators happy bus park roads rehabilitated

Jamaica Observer / TAXI and bus operators who use the Spanish Town Municipal Bus Park in St Catherine can now breathe a sigh of relief, as their prayers for better roads inside the park have been answered. The Jamaica Observer highlighted their plight last month. Yesterday, taxi operators told the Observer they are pleased that the road has now been fixed.

“It is very satisfying, because we have been complaining for some time about it and we were made a promise that it would be fixed,” said taxi operator Barrington James, who plies the route from Spanish Town to Epsom City.

“The road was causing problems because a lot of taxi operators lose front end and other parts,” he added.

According to taxi operators, they would spend between $200,000 and $300,000 for damage to their vehicles yearly, because of the deplorable condition of the road.

The Observer was told that the road repairs were carried out last week.
