Girlfriend identifies body of career criminal

Trinidad Express / THE MAN found murdered in Moruga on Tuesday has been identified.

Michael Jacob, 24, had addresses at Princes Town and Tobago, police said.

Jacob, whose alias was “five-O”, was identified by his girlfriend hours after his body was found in a vehicle at Bachan Trace, St Mary’s.

She told police that she last saw him the night before when he dropped her at her Ste Madeleine home around 7 p.m.

She said she was the owner of the Nissan B14 in which the body was found.

Police said Jacob was found with two bullet wounds to the head.

Residents said that the car was first noticed at around 9 p.m. Monday.

Shortly after day break on Tuesday, when residents saw the car parked in the same spot, they contacted police officers.

After hearing media reports on the incident, Jacob’s girlfriend went to Homicide Region III and told officers she wished to view the body.

Police said that Jacob was a “career criminal”, known for having served jail time for offences such as robbery, firearm and ammunition, and drug possession.

Police said that last year Jacob had been appeared in court for possession of a firearm and that he had been remanded into custody.

Officers said that he was recently released on bail.
