Granny killed crossing Diego Martin highway

Trinidad Express / A DIEGO Martin pensioner was knocked down by a vehicle and killed while attempting to cross the highway before daybreak today.

Etta Reid, 66, of Powder Magazine, was attempting to cross the Diego Martin Highway when tragedy struck.

At around 5.15 a.m. Reid was struck by a B13 driven by a 57 year old man.

Police were told by the driver that he was on the south bound lane in the vicinity of Morne Coco and Four Roads intersection when Reid came into contact with his vehicle.

Reid was pronounced dead at the scene by a district medical officer and an autopsy was expected to be performed today.
