Jamaican, World Leaders Attend Castro Farewell


RJR News / Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller of Jamaica were among thousands from around the world who were in Havana, Cuba on Tuesday night to pay respects to former Cuban President Fidel Castro.   The 90-year-old revolutionary leader died last Friday. The gathering was attended by a number of world leaders, but according to the BBC, some countries sent lower-level officials.

His ashes will be taken to the eastern city of Santiago later on Wednesday.

On Sunday, the ashes will be placed in the Ifigenia Cemetery in Santiago, where Cuban independence hero Jose Marti is buried.
