Late afternoon Kingston road work caused traffic gridlock, NWA says sorry

Jamaica Gleaner / The National Works Agency (NWA) is apologising for the traffic snarl in the Corporate Area caused by road works on Monday evening.

Hundreds of motorists complained of being stuck in the gridlock for hours.

Reports later emerged that road patching works being undertaken by the NWA was the cause of the delays.

Communications Manager at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says the agency typically allows work along major corridors between 9 o’clock in the mornings and 3 o’clock in the afternoons.
