Local v/ball women brought back down to earth*

Trinidad Express / AFTER producing this country’s biggest win in the history of the sport of volleyball one night earlier, the national female players came down to earth Saturday night at National Cycling Centre, Couva. The fans were certain that the dream would continue in the FIVB (International Volleyball Federation) World Grand Prix when Trinidad and Tobago won the first three points after roaring back from a set down to payback Australia for a straight-set victory a week earlier. But the hosts were playing pool favourites France, and in the blink of an eye the lead was gone and they found themselves playing catch-up for the majority of the 77-minute contest. T&T managed to hit the front again early in the third set and were still in contention to force a fourth at 17-all, but then managed to win three of the last eight points.
