Medical Association refers queries about Conrad Murray to Medical Board

News day / In February 2010, Murray was formally charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of pop icon Michael Jackson. He was convicted in November 2011 and received the maximum penalty of four years in prison. His Texas, California and Nevada medical licenses were suspended. After serving two years of his sentence, Murray was released on October 28, 2013.

A medical source said Murray was last registered here in 2004 and was on the list of doctors but noted that if a doctor had been out of the jurisdiction for any length of time, that doctor would have to produce a “certificate of good standing.” Murray, who was born in Grenada but moved here as a child with his parents, has reportedly stated that he has the necessary credentials and is properly licensed to practice in this country.

According to the National Register of medical practitioners of TT as approved by the council of the Medical Board under the Medical Board Act as at March 8, 2017, Murray is listed on the register with the word “abroad” in brackets next to his name.
