Mom of dead bandit: ‘My son was loving’

THREE men who were killed by police officers in Cunupia  on Tuesday have been identified.

Jamal Morgan, 26, Lance Clarke, 26, and Simeon Antoine, 25, all of Cunupia, were identified by their relatives at the Forensic Sciences Centre where their autopsies were done.

They were shot multiple times by officers who responded to a report that criminals had robbed a woodworking business at Soogrim Street, Cunupia.

The three allegedly stole cash and jewellery and were attempting to escape with the loot when they were spotted by police.

There was a reported exchange of gunfire at Egypt Trace, Enterprise.

Police say they shot three suspects. All three were taken to hospital and died while receiving treatment.

One suspect is still at large.

Morgan’s mother, Marsha Dickson, told reporters that said she had tried to convince her son to turn his life around but he refused to listen.

She said bad company and his choices led to his death.

Morgan lived at Griffith Road, Chin Chin.

Mavis Lord, the mother of Clarke, described her son as “loving”, said one of the last things he did was take her to church.

Lord described her son as family-oriented, loving and admired by the youth in their community.

Clarke lived at Jackman Trace.

Antoine’s relatives declined to be interviewed.

He lived at Hassarath Road.

For the year 38 people have been killed by police.
