Murder victim’s brother goes to court

Trinidad Express / SOLOMON BAKSH, the brother of Malabar double murder victim Haffiza “Rose” Mohammed, appeared in court on Monday charged with the murders of his sister and 13-year-old Videsh Mohammed.

Baksh, 54, of Ajim Baksh Trace, Malabar, appeared before senior magistrate Gillian Scotland-David in the Arima Magistrates Court.

Baksh was jointly charged with Wayne Liverpool, 25, of Sangre Grande.

In addition to the murder charges, they were also read charges of robbery of a television, tools, jewelry, cell phones and cash totaling over $25,000.

They were not called upon to plea as the charges were laid indictable.

The men were remanded into custody until August 14.

Mohammed, 57, and Videsh, were found dead on June 28 in a bedroom at her home at Ajim Baksh Trace. They had been tied up and their throats slit.
