North InterCol Kings*

Trinidad Express / PORT OF SPAIN   Trinity College Moka continued to celebrate their triumph in the Coca-Cola Secondary Schools Football League North Zone InterCol yesterday when the school hosted a special assembly to show their appreciation to the Kings in the North. It has been a long time coming for the “Moka Warriors” and coach Marlon Minguel was full of praise for his men who stuck to their game-plan and pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season — a 5-4 penalty shoot-out win over last year’s champions, St Anthony’s College. Minguel said his players were anxious ahead of the clash but were never intimidated by the “Westmoorings Tigers”. In the end, a solid defence and smart counter-attacking play saw the Moka boys hold St Anthony’s 1-1 after 90 minutes, forcing the game to be decided on kicks from the penalty spot. Some nervous moments followed, but Trinity kept their cool to finish the job. Become a subscriber to the Trinidad Express Newspapers for access to all our articles via our vNEWS.
