ODPM: Take Irma relief supplies to TTPost offices*

Trinidad Express / port of spain   The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) announced yesterday it was teaming up with TTPost to collect relief supplies for islands devastated by Hurricane Irma. The ODPM said it has been communicating with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Authority, and listed some territories that needed help with supplies as quickly as possible: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, and Haiti. The ODPM said while cash donations are considered best practice, at this stage of the relief effort an emergency needs list has been generated following consultation with the disaster managers in these territories. Those dropping off their donations are reminded the items should be placed in labelled boxes indicating the package is for Hurricane Irma Relief via the ODPM. Items and their quantities should be listed, and donors should ensure the food and medicine carry a minimum shelf life of six months.
