Pilots strike over safety concerns with ATR planes *

Trinidad Express /

TRAVELLERS hoping to go to Tobago yesterday criticised Caribbean Airlines (CAL) for a “lack of information” and “disorganisation” regarding cancelled flights and flight times.

A number of flights had to be cancelled due to the airline’s pilots refusing to operate the company’s ATR aircraft which they say have been experiencing constant technical problems.

At the Tobago terminal at Piarco International Airport yesterday, frustrated passengers complained about having to wait upwards of six hours for flights.

The delays come at an important time for Tobago travel as the 2017 Heritage Festival was launched on the sister island on Friday.

It runs until August 1.
