Police to step up enforcement activities in SE St Mary

Jamaica Gleaner / Head of the Police Area 2, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Norman Heywood, says the police will intensify their enforcement activities this week across South Eastern St Mary as the two main political parties step up their campaigning ahead of Monday’s by-election.

ACP Heywood says special attention will be given to communities in Annotto Bay, Enfield, Richmond and Bellefield.

These areas have been sites of political tension in recent weeks.

The Area 2 head says the tension has been caused by acts of vandalism across party lines.

He says the police will continue to do what’s necessary to keep the peace ahead of the by-election.
