PTSC’ s Forde has been reappointed

Trinidad Express / IN a bizarre series of event, General Manager of the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) Ronald Forde appeared before a Joint Select Committee of Parliament last Tuesday, suggested a bus fare increase, was sent on leave by Friday, and was reappointed to his post this morning.

The decision to send Forde on leave until the end of his five year contract in February 2017, appeared to have been taken by the Board of the PTSC without the knowledge of newly appointed Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan who called for a report on the matter.

On Monday, a statement came from the PTSC.

It read: “Reports in the public domain have conveyed that Mr Ronald Forde, General Manager of the PTSC was placed on leave as of November 25, 2016.

Subsequent to these events, the Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise that effective immediately, Mr Forde has been reinstated in his substantive post.  He will continue to perform his duties as General Manager of the PTSC”.

No reason was given for Forde was sent on leave in the first place.
