Range Resources introduces RRDSL*

Trinidad Express / YOU normally hear of oilfield services companies coming into Trinidad and Tobago to undertake work for upstream operators, both local and foreign. But what about the other way around—locally-established service firms exporting their expertise to other countries with an active energy sector? Such is the case with Range Resources Ltd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Range Resources Drilling Services Ltd (RRDSL). This company, of course, performs services for Range on the two land blocks, it holds locally, Morne Diablo and Beach Marcelle. But that is apparently not enough to keep it busy throughout the year and RRDSL is in the market for work from other upstreamers. This makes good business sense. After all, RRDSL has an expensive fleet to upkeep. It has 12 drilling rigs, including four very up-to-date ones, purchased in 2014. The company also employs over 160 people, who need to be kept active. The parent company makes no bones about its intention to ensure RRDSL becomes “a profitable oilfield services company, providing onshore operations to Range and a wide range of counterparties in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as internationally.”
