“Revenge killing over beheading”

Trinidad Express / MICHAEL Jacob,  who was shot dead in Moruga on Tuesday ,was suspected to have killed and cut off the head of a man whose body was found in Ste Madeleine two weeks ago.

Jacob’s execution may have been an act of revenge for the killing of Davidson Charles Leben, whose body was found on May 4.

Jacob, 24, was found in a vehicle parked in Moruga on Tuesday.

He was last seen alive the night before by his girlfriend.

She said Jacob was the owner of the Nissan B14 in which his body, with two bullets to the head, was found at Bachan Trace, St Mary’s Village.

Police said that Jacob was a “career criminal”, known for having served jail time for offences such as robbery, firearm and ammunition, and drug possession, and last year had appeared in court for possession of a firearm.

He was recently released from prison on bail.

Last month Leben went missing and his body was found near Stanleyville a squatting community near the Usine/Ste Madeleine sugar factory. The body of 33-year-old Leben which was in an advanced state of decomposition. His head was found next to the body. Leben, police said, was last seen by his family on April 20.

Both Leben and Jacob lived at St Croix Road, police said.
