Rough start*

Trinidad Express / It was a disappointing homecoming for San Juan Jabloteh, as their first match on home turf at the Brian Lara Recreation Ground ended in a 3-0 defeat against Directv W Connection in the Digicel Pro League on Friday. Hughtun Hector scored on either side of the break, separated by team-mate Andre Toussaint’s first-half item in a classy W Connection performance. The result puts the Stuart Charles-Fevrier-coached Connection, on 19 points from eight games into the lead in the standings on goal-difference, with previous leaders and rivals Central FC having a game in hand against St. Ann’s Rangers on Tuesday. Jabloteh, still third, brought out hundreds of supporters to the Sam Boucaud venue. Hector, quickest to react to an Alvin Jones’ free-kick which crashed off the wall and entered the area, fired Connection 1-0 ahead by hitting beyond goalkeeper Shemel Louison.
