Rowley meets with Kamla on Tuesday*

Trinidad Express / port of spain   THE meeting between Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar is scheduled to take place next Tuesday at 2 p.m. Persad-Bissessar told the Express by phone on Thursday that she replied to the Prime Minister’s invitation for a private meeting and sent a letter requesting a proposed agenda for the discussions. Asked if she will be taking a team, Persad-Bissessar responded: “(Rowley) has indicated he wanted a private meeting and I can bring a note taker. Let me see what his reply is to the letter when he proposes the agenda then we will consider what is the next step.” The Office of the Prime Minister stated on Monday that Rowley wrote to Persad-Bissessar, requesting a private meeting for preliminary discussions on matters of national interest. The Prime Minister proposed the meeting take place between July 12 and 19 in a suitable room at the Parliament, International Waterfront Centre, Port of Spain. Persad-Bissessar said yesterday she would like to discuss crime, the economy and the ongoing issues facing the judiciary.
