Social Security Ministry Giving Assistance To Portland Flood Victims

RJR News / The Ministry of Social Security has begun providing assistance for the families in Portland whose houses were affected by flood waters and landslides last week.      Denise Lewis, Disaster Coordinator for Portland, says the welfare committee, which comprises several organisations including the Salvation Army, Portland Municipal Corporation, and Total Welfare Committee, has visited communities such as Berrydale to conduct assessments. So far, residents have received items such as mattresses, tarpaulins and other essentials to aid in the recovery process.
