T&T Prime Minister Pleased With PNM’s Local Gov’t Poll Victory

RJR News / Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has said he is pleased with the victory of the People’s National Movement (PNM) in Monday’s local government election in the twin island republic.      He noted that the low voter turnout was not surprising as local government polls do not attract a large number of electors.    He said the PNM did as much as it could do in motivating people to come out to vote.                  The PNM won 83 electoral districts and the United National Congress (UNC) won 54.      Although the UNC did not win overall, it improved from the 2013 local government election.
