Two hurt in Independence Square crash

Trinidad Express / Two people were hurt in a crash at Independence Square, Port of Spain, yesterday.

The accident caused traffic in the capital as motorists had to avoid the scene.

At about 3:20p.m  a 42-year-old man from Cunupia was driving a white panel van in a westerly direction along Independence Square North, when he came into contact with a Nissan Tiida motor vehicle which was driven by a 65-year-old woman from Chaguanas.

The panel van spun several times before landing on its side.

The 42-yaer-old driver of the van pulled himself out of the car, while the 65-year-old woman walked out.

The police and emergency health services were notified and the area was cordoned off.

None of the injuries were said to be serious.
