Unidentified Body Found In Tredegar Park, St. Catherine


RJR News / The body of an unidentified man was found with bullet wounds shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Monday in Tredegar Park, St. Catherine.    This was confirmed by Assistant Commissioner Derrick Knight, head of Area Five Headquarters.     He said there is nothing to suggest that the killing is related to today’s Local Government Election.    Shootout Meanwhile, ACP Knight disclosed that there was a shootout between the police and gunmen in Red Ground, St. Catherine Monday morning.    A gun was recovered.    It is suspected that one of the men was shot.    ACP Knight said members of the police and military were deployed to hot spots in the division to prevent violence and voter intimidation.    Members of the military have been deployed to Newlands since Saturday following allegations of planned voter intimidation.    More than 100 persons have been killed in gang violence in Spanish Town over the last several months.
