UPDATE: Suspect Who Chopped Officer In St. Thomas Shot Dead By Police


RJR News / The suspect in Wednesday’s incident in which a policeman was attacked and chopped in Ginger Hall, Bath, St. Thomas has been shot and killed.   The man was shot about 11:45 a.m. on Thursday when he reportedly attacked a member of a police team with a machete.   A probe is being conducted by INDECOM. It is reported that the police spotted the man on a property on New Road in Bath and attempted to accost him when the alleged confrontation took place.   The police had been searching for the man since he allegedly attacked a constable who was on vehicular patrol with a colleague in Ginger Hall about 3:15 Wednesday afternoon.   The constable was chopped on his right hand. He fired a shot but his attacker escaped.   The policeman was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he was treated and released.
